Amit Mehta

Amit Mehta is an institutional investor and philanthropist supporting the transformational power of US and India education, policy and free market efforts.  Mr. Mehta is Managing Member of Crestwood Capital, a growth hedge fund generating double digit investment returns in global business models for over two decades. Prior to running Crestwood, Mr. Mehta worked in financial consulting, leading the equities valuation group at Navigant Consulting in New York, and working in corporate advisory at CW Amos in Washington, DC. Mr. Mehta serves on the board of visitors of the Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland. He is a member of the Founders Circle of civic engagement and advocacy group, Indian American Impact. Mr. Mehta earned a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science from the highly selective Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, and was recruited with a fellowship for an M.B.A at the University of Maryland Business School. He returned to Maryland’s campus as commencement speaker for both the undergraduate and graduate students at the Smith School of Business. Amit grew up in Bombay as a cricket and tennis fan, and currently lives in New York with his spouse, and two sons.
