Safety and Efficacy of Single-Dose Ad26.COV2.S Vaccine against Covid-19
A research study examining the safety and efficacy of single-dose AD26.COV2.S vaccine against COVID-19. A single dose of Ad26.COV2.S protected against symptomatic Covid-19 and asymptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection and was effective against severe–critical disease, including hospitalization and death. Safety appeared to be similar to that in other phase 3 trials of Covid-19 vaccines. Created by: Jerald Sadoff, et al. The New England Journal of Medicine

Preliminary Findings of mRNA Covid-19 Vaccine Safety in Pregnant Persons
A research study examining the safety of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in pregnant persons. Preliminary findings did not show obvious safety signals among pregnant persons who received mRNA Covid-19 vaccines. However, more longitudinal follow-up, including follow-up of large numbers of women vaccinated earlier in pregnancy, is necessary to inform maternal, pregnancy, and infant outcomes.

Vaccine Breakthrough Infections with SARS-CoV-2 Variants
A research study examining whether individuals who had received the second dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines would show signs of illnesses if infected with a variant of the COVID-19 virus. In a cohort of 417 persons who had received either of the second dose at least 2 weeks previously, 2 women were identified with vaccine breakthrough infection. These observations indicate a potential risk of illness after successful vaccination and subsequent infection with variant virus, and they provide support for continued efforts to prevent and diagnose infection and to characterize variants in vaccinated persons.
